The former couple shares a son, William Roberts III, who is named after his father. Earlier this year, the 18-year-old committed to Bethune-Cookman University’s football team, making him an HBCU student and athlete this fall, according to Yahoo! News.
On June 15, the day before Father’s Day, Ross posted a video on his Instagram Story celebrating the end of his child support payments. In the video, he said, "God is great," and asked his followers, “What would you rather celebrate, Father’s Day or the date of your last child support payment?
Or, what if your last child support payment was on Father’s Day weekend? That’s what you call divine divinity.”
While some social media users found Ross’s comments amusing, Tia Kemp did not. She responded with an explicit video, criticizing Ross for his remarks.
In her video, Kemp said, “Listen here, b***h–every day I’m f**king hustlin’. I heard you were talking about the best Father’s Day gift being your last child support payment. Who the f**k cares about your child support payments, b***h?”
She also mentioned the possibility of seeking continued support in court, noting that she could request more support while their son is in college.
For context, it is unclear in which state their child support case is based. However, William III attended high school in Fort Lauderdale at St.
Thomas Aquinas, indicating that Kemp and her son likely reside in Florida. According to Florida law, courts typically do not require parents to pay child support after a child graduates from high school or turns 18, with some exceptions for severe disabilities and court orders from other states.
